Thank heaven for not being superstitious

Two years ago yesterday, Justin and I got engaged. Though my ring got remade I think twice since this picture (thanks to our terrible jeweler), and has an entirely different set of diamonds, it still looks roughly the same and it's the only picture I have. Anyway, Justin proposed to me in the middle of the woods after a dinner served by dear old Riley in a suit with a towel over his arm. It was all my favorite foods and of course, Martinellis. Justin ran off because he had to, I believe the polite thing to say is "relieve his waters" and left me sitting alone at our table in the middle of the woods for roughly 10 or 15 minutes while it became progressively darker. When he returned from what I thought must have been a near life-ending struggle with his bowels, it turned out that he had not been watering the plants after all, but rather changing into a tux and grabbing more roses and a ring. It was incredibly romantic and I still love so much how he went all out to try and make it a night to remember. He is the sweetest.

Also, on a side note, we got engaged on Friday, the 13th in the spookiest month of the year, hence the title of this post.

This is us two days before we got engaged at the wedding of our friends, Justin and Jessica Madsen (happy anniversary on Saturday, guys!). Justin's hoarded all the pictures from our engagement day on his computer for the last two years, so I'll post them when I get them hopefully later today.

Melissa said... just got those pictures of your engagements and you said you were going to post them "later today". If I say 2 Nephi 9:34, I think you know what I am getting at. haha. Get those pictures up! :)

P.S. It was so good to see you yesterday!!!
